Trump reportedly furious as ex-lawyer lands $10M-a-year deal from family of pardoned billionaire
Per the New York Times, as relayed by @unusual_whales, Alina Habba Mildon signed a four-year, $10 million-a-year general counsel deal with a company founded by the daughter of Julio Herrera Velutini. She signed it while advising the Justice Department. Herrera was seeking a pardon at the time, after a plea deal reduced felony bribery charges to a misdemeanor, and his daughter had given $3.5 million to a Trump-aligned super PAC. Habba Mildon started on Jan. 1, and weeks later Trump granted Herrera a full pardon. Trump is reportedly furious. He has told aides she should donate part of the money to his presidential library, and told an ally the family shouldn't pay out the rest of the contract.
